When to Visit Park City Utah
This was our third visit to Park City, but our first time visiting the majestic mountain time in the fall. We visited right after the Labor Day holiday, which is a low time to visit Park City Utah – right after the summer rush has left and before the ski-bunnies take over the town. Located at above 7,000 feet, it is one of the first towns in the U.S to experience autumn – yes, even before New England.
Romantic Adventures in Park City Utah
Stand-up Paddleboard Yoga in a Crater: We’ve gone standup paddle boarding and we’ve practiced yoga, but we’ve never had a paddleboarding experience like the one we had in Park City. We headed out to the Homestead Crater with Park City Yoga Adventures to practice standup paddleboard yoga in a 10,000 year old crater. The Homestead Crater is a geothermal hot spring hidden within a 55-foot rock that allows sunlight and fresh air into the crater. The water in the crater ranges between 90 degrees and 94 degrees all year round so no matter what the temperature is outside, things stay hot and steamy on the inside.
While everyone has a different intention in their yoga practice, it is recommended to let go and “release” in SUP yoga and surrender yourself to fall into the geothermal waters.
Five-Star Spa: Park City Utah is home to the only Forbes five-star spa in the state of Utah located at the intimate and stylish Stein Eriksen Lodge. We headed down to the spa at the Stein Erikesen Residences,a new Stein Collection luxury property, for a divine 50-minute massage. After days spent on the mountain, there is nothing better than a relaxing deep tissue massage with the one you love along side you.
Bobsledding: Our favorite part of our visit to Park City was our trip to the Utah Olympic Park, the home of the 2002 Olympic Games. While at the Olympic Park, we tried our hands at bobsledding! We headed to the top of the park where we set off on our bobsled down the same track as the 2002 Olympians. Coco had always dreamed of being an Olympian so this was by far our most fulfilling adventure in Park City. The fact that we were able to experience this adventure together in the same sled made the escapade that much sweeter.
Fly-Fishing: While in Park City, we headed out to the Weber River with Park City Fly Fishing Guides to try our hand at fly-fishing. We were outfitted in full-body waders that kept us nice and dry and we headed out to the river to catch some fish! We both caught brown trout within minutes of trying our hand at fly-fishing. Don’t worry – we caught them and released them back to the river. With no people around for miles, fly-fishing in Park City was so peaceful that it felt like a moving meditation.
Hiking: Park City and its surrounding mountains are home to some of the best hikes in all of Utah. Check out these awesome hikes that are recommended by Visit Park City.
Hot Air Ballooning: One of the most romantic ways to see the mountains of Park City is via hot air balloon. If you can, try to plan your trip to Park City during Autumn Aloft, its hot air balloon festival that takes place in mid-September.
Main Street: Main Street is the heart and soul of Park City. It is home to fine art galleries, great shopping, and gourmet restaurants. After a day spent adventuring, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a romantic date night in Park City, Utah.
High West Distillery: The High West Distillery and Saloon is a Park City staple. Grab your sweetheart and enjoy a “Sunday funday” of high-end whiskey tastings in the heart of Park City. Remember to take it slow – you are at 7,000 feet of altitude!
