The colonial city of Cartagena is known for its colorful buildings, picturesque walled city, and its incredible rooftop pools. While visiting this coastal Caribbean city, we experienced the absolute best rooftop pools you could imagine. Out of all the things to do in Cartagena, relaxing at rooftop pools tops our list. You won’t want to miss these!

Just outside of the walled city of Cartagena lies an incredible luxury hotel named Allure by Chocolat. On the fourth floor of this beautiful hotel lies an infinity pool that overlooks the harbor of Cartagena. Watch the yachts glide in and out of port as you sip on their signature sangria or a delicious piña colada.
The rooftop area is small and it’s absolute perfection. As Allure by Chocolat is a boutique hotel, you don’t have to worry about the throngs of tourists littering the area. Lay back on one of the couches or grab a lounge chair as their calming music helps drift you off into wonderland. My personal favorite way to spend the day in the 90-degree heat is to steep in the pool while soaking in the sweeping views of Cartagena.
The Movich Hotel is the ultimate in rooftop luxury. Located within the walls of the old city of Cartagena, this rooftop boasts 360-degree views of the old city, the harbor, and the bustling skyscraper skyline of downtown Cartagena.
Pay the 150,000 pesos day pass (~$65 USD) and enjoy a full day in the lap of luxury. The best part is, half of your day pass tab goes to food & beverage. Despite being a 5-star hotel, the Movich is still extremely well priced. The four of us enjoyed multiple bottles of wine and other delectable cocktails while marinating in the Colombian sun.
Take a dip in their mini plunge pool or go for a swim in their infinity pool that overlooks all of Cartagena. You can order drinks directly into the pool – we recommend a Miami Vice on a hot summer day! Since the tropical house music they play is so incredible, you can rest your cocktails on the edge of the infinity pool as you dance your heart out in the pool.

Thank you! Very helpful…quick question. Did you have to pay a fee to spend the day at Allure by Chocolat or were you a guest there?
Korina,
We weren’t a guest there and there wasn’t a fee for Allure. I believe there was a small minimum spend. It wasn’t that expensive. When are you going?
Did you explore any beach clubs or day parties there ? I’m going in two weeks
It is one of the destinations that makes me very envious, I keep it in a corner of my head for a little improvised rooftop and pools. Thanks for the little info.

I was at the Allure when you and Scott were there. You both were incredibly loud and rude and disturbed the other guests. You travel bloggers think the world revolves around you.
