As we made our way through Amsterdam, the land of canals, stroopwafels, and horseshoe shaped streets, bicycles road side-by-side with us, gliding effortlessly over the cobblestones roads. While the streets made traversing the city difficult and confusing, the welcoming Hotel Pulitzer flag and luxurious accommodations make the circuitous route well worth it.
Nestled between the numerous oversized skinny houses, the Pulitzer hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Amsterdam
The Hotel Pulitzer is a chic Dutch hideaway in the heart of Amsterdam. Fall into the lap of luxury as you’re surrounded by the hotels graceful décor and attentive service.
We stayed at the Hotel Pulitzer at the very end of our honeymoon and it provided the romance and luxury we desired. Nestled on a quaint canal, it was in the perfect location for us to sightsee, while still feeling like we were in an authentically Dutch atmosphere.
Location
The Hotel Pulitzer is centrally located in Amsterdam, walking distance to all of the major hotspots. The hotel is close to Dam Square, the Royal Palace, the Anne Frank House, and main museums. If walking isn’t your thing, you can also bike, take a canal ferry, or a bus to local sites.
Rooms
The rooms in the Hotel Pulitzer are classily decorated with warm accents and a plush bed. The cozy rooms are festooned with touches of 17th and 18th century charm. These rooms are in restored canal houses from the 17th and 18th centuries. TIP: Ask for a canal view room, they are well worth the extra money.
An added treat: The hotel leaves stroopwafels, a dutch sugar pancake, in the room every night. Forget a pillow chocolate, stroopwafels take the cake.
Service
As a Luxury Collection hotel, The Hotel Pulitzer lives up to the hype. From the moment you step up to the Hotel Pulitzer, you are greeted with warmth. From the bellman to the concierge, the restaurant to the manager, every employee of the Hotel Pulitzer treats the hotel guests with the utmost respect.
If you’re looking for an activity or a reservation, make sure to stop by the concierge desk where the Hotel Pulitzer’s team of experts is ready and waiting to share the cities hidden secrets.
Restaurants
When staying at the Hotel Pulitzer, you have a multitude of dining options. The Lobby Lounge and Pulitzers Bar accommodate a more laid back dining environment. Enjoy a culinary experience at Restaurant Keizergracht 238, where The Hotel Pulitzer serves breakfast and dinner with chef specials from around the world. Their steak is absolutely divine!
If your feet are gassed after a day of walking along the canals, retire to your room and eat dinner on your heavenly bed.
If you’re suffering from jet lag or just need a nice pick me up, head to the Espresso Bar and enjoy a quick café. On a nice day, enjoy the Amsterdam sun in the outdoor courtyard.
Overall
The Hotel Pulitzer provides a refined and sophisticated stay in the center of Amsterdam. We highly recommend this hotel to couples, friends, and small families. It is also the perfect location for the business traveler.
