Always firm believers in the adage, “the couple that plays together stays together,” we knew that a trip to Llao Llao was absolutely necessary during our adventure to Patagonia. Wellness is about the yin and yang, exploring your bodies limits and replenishing it with much needed rest and relaxation. Llao Llao Hotel & Resort, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, was the perfect amalgam of wellness, offering us endless outdoor adventures while providing infinite opportunities to relax. With its beautiful mountainside, lakefront setting, Llao Llao presented the picture-perfect location for a weekend of wellness. The only problem was that we couldn’t stay longer!
Llao Llao is the ultimate couples location – providing activities for absolutely everyone. There was always an adventure or activity for us to bond over. We could go hiking together, take a boat cruise of the lake, or enjoy the Jacuzzi together. When Scott wanted to golf, I could swim in the pool, surrounded by the Patagonian mountains. If I wanted to go mountain biking, Scott could kayak.
As fitness lovers, we felt like kids in a candy store at the Llao Llao. Whether you’re a mountain lover or a water baby, a gym rat or a yogi, Llao Llao has it all. Upon check-in, we were given a fitness schedule with a list of all of the included fitness classes at the resort. We could choose from BodyPump classes to evening yoga, organized walks to pilates, they even offered archery! Scott and I lifted weights in the gym, utilized the cardio equipment, and even took an evening yoga class. The fact that we had a clear view of the Patagonian mountains while working out was an added bonus!
When we worked our muscles long and hard in the great outdoors, we could retire to the spa for a much needed rejuvenating massage. Scott chose a 90-minute sports massage while I chose a 90-minute anti-stress massage. We were guided to our rooms, overlooking the lake and snowcapped mountains. As much as I wanted to keep my head up to stare off at the beautiful view, I had a massage to enjoy! This massage wasn’t just any massage – it was one of the absolute best massages of my life. The therapist worked my muscles, while also providing a relaxing setting. Soothing lavender oil was carefully caressed onto my body as the sound of silence engulfed me in a cloak of relaxation.
