Vacation is a time to revitalize and refresh your mind, body, and spirit, and what better way than with a health escape in tantalizing Thailand. Restart Health Escapes curated a fitness fusion holiday, complete with opportunities to relax and unwind, while also working on your physical fitness and mental health. People traveled from all around the world to Phuket, Thailand to experience this incredible Phuket Health Retreat.
The Location
Radisson Blu – For 5 nights, we stayed at the Radisson Blu in Phuket. Located right on the water and complete with an infinity pool, this hotel was the perfect seaside escape for our fitness.
Thanyapura – Want to train like an Olympic gold medalist alongside Olympic gold medalists? Then head straight to Thanyapura, located in the middle of Phuket island. This facility has an Olympic sized swimming pool, tennis courts, 500 meter soft track, and incredible weightlifting facilities. They also boost Zumba classes, yoga, triathlon training and healthy eating. We were in complete heaven while at Thanyapura. We trained like athletes, ate like athletes, recovered like athletes, and felt like the true athletes we are.
Fitness
Yoga – Immerse yourself in seaside yoga sessions led by a local Thai yogi. These sessions will cover breathing practice, vinyasa yoga flow, and yin yoga. Flow through your practice as you look out over the Andaman Sea and the warm breeze trickles over your body.
Active Stretch – Revitalize your muscles with an active stretch that will restore your mind and body.
Circuit Training & Beach Bootcamp – Burn those calories in fat blasting circuit training. These workouts combine cardio and weight training all in one. You can even train like an athlete at a local CrossFit gym.
Muay Thai Fighting – When in Thailand, do as the Thai’s do! Visit Dragon Muay Thai, a local fight gym where you are taken through proper Muay Thai training. Punch, kick, and run your way around this famed gym.
Adventure
Not all fitness is limited to gym-like activities!
High Ropes Course – Restart Health Escapes took us out into the field on high ropes courses, challenging our core strength while overcoming our fear of heights! Bond with your fellow escapees with over 70 challenging ropes courses.
Stand-up Paddleboarding – Feel the core burn as you paddleboard around the Andaman Sea, taking in Phuket and all of its splendors.
Sea-kayaking – One of the absolute highlights of this trip was our sea-kayaking trip to Phang Nga Bay. We kayaked through the clear blue waters, around the monolithic limestone structures jutting out of the alluring Andaman Sea. It was a completely majestic experience that will stay with us forever.
Jungle Trek – We visited Khao Prah Taeo National Park where we trekked through the scenic rainforest and visited a gibbon sanctuary!
The Food
One of the best parts of Restart Health Escapes is the delectable food that you indulge in all week. Unlike other restrictive retreats, Restart Health Escapes takes you out to the finest Phuket restaurants where you can enjoy luxurious local cuisine.
Culture
Restart Health Escapes believes in delivering an authentic local experience.
Temples — While on our escape, we visited Wat Chalong, Phuket’s most significant temple. We also visited the Big Buddha, a must see in Phuket.
Cooking School – We visited the world-renowned Blue Elephant cooking school in Phuket. There, we were able to visit local food markets and learn how to cook healthy Thai food that we could cook in our very own homes. With the sea setting as a backdrop, the trip to Blue Elephant was the perfect place to learn how to cook authentic Thai cuisine.
Chalong Night Market – Go shopping and try your hand at bartering in a Thai village.
Meditation Workshop – We participated in a meditation workshop with Andrea Capellari (an interpreter for the Italian language for the Dalai Lama)
Overall
Restart Health Escapes was one of our favorite holidays to date. They incorporate fun, food, culture, and health, all into one beautiful package. With health retreats all over delightful destinations across Southeast Asia and Australia, it’s the perfect location for you to restart your health.
wow – that looks awesome! I’ve never considered a break like that, mostly because I have kids and I can’t see it working so well, but when they have flown the nest (not long now) I think I’d definitely give that a go! Thanks for sharing 🙂
