Calling all adventure lovers! Bali, also known as the island of the Gods, is home to some of the most epic adventures in the world. So how do you choose from all of these amazing things to do in Bali? For those of you who can’t imagine spending days sitting by a beach or pool, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! For those adventure seeking adrenaline junkies, here is a list of our top fitness activities in Bali.
1. Climb Mt. Batur
Calling all adventure lovers! Wake up at 1:45 am to climb the majestic Mt. Batur. Start your hike in the silence of the night and scale over 1000m to the top of this active volcano. For those Hawaii lovers, this is Mt. Haleakala’s extreme version! As you scale the mountain, the radiant red of the morning sun peaks over the volcano’s in the distance. On a clear day, you can see the volcano of nearby Lombok Island. Enjoy a breakfast at the top made of eggs cooked in the steam of the volcano! This is a sunset for the record books and by far one of the best things to do in Bali for the adventurer at heart.
2. AntiGravity Yoga at The Four Seasons Sayan
Sometimes one of the best things to do in Bali is to change your perspective on things and what better way than through Aerial Yoga? Located in the Dharma Shante Bale sanctuary of The Four Seasons Sayan in spiritual Ubud, tap into your inner yogi as you fly high with nature in AntiGravity Yoga. Cocoon your body in sumptuous silks as you “combine athletic strength with the motion of dance” in AntiGravity Yoga. Safe for all ages and levels, the silks of the AntiGravity hammock safely support your entire body so you are able to enhance postures and positions for your health. The Four Seasons’ yoga bale is completely surrounded by the jungle, allowing you to heal in nature’s harmony.
3. Surf Green Bowl Beach
This secluded Uluwatu beach is one of Bali’s best-kept secrets (until now!) The aqua blue waters and gnarly waves of Bali’s southern coast do not disappoint. After a surf session, hike the 200+ steps back up to the top of Green Bowl.
4. White Water Raft the Ayung River
Saddle up from a rowdy ride down the Ayung River. This river flows through Ubud and the rice fields of central Bali. Enjoy unspoiled views of the Ayung River Valley as you paddle and raft yourself down the river. If you want an advanced rafting session, join in the wet season (December – May). Lower water and dryer conditions are present June to December.
5. Bike Through the Rice Paddies
Escape the tourist crowds and get to know the inner workings of Bali during a bike tour of the rice paddies. One of our favorite things to do in Bali has been to explore it by bike. Enjoy the unique landscape by biking through villages, next to rice paddies, and around beautiful banyan trees.
6. Yoga at The Yoga Barn
When I think of quintessential Bali, I think of The Yoga Barn. One of the best things to do in Bali is to get your Om on in Ubud, the spiritual capital of Bali. Choose from vinyasa, Tibetan meditation, aerial yoga, and much, much more at this Balinese yoga staple. Nestled in the jungles of Ubud, The Yoga Barn is the perfect place to immerse yourself in a rainforest paradise. Tip: Arrive early (30 minutes) since classes sell out fast.

I loved trying anti-gravity yoga at FS Sayan – it was so peaceful there! When I go back to Bali (hopefully soon) I will have to try out more of your recommendations! x
We didn’t make it to Sayan, but we hope to next time. While we left Bali, our hearts didn’t. We’ll be back soon, as well.
Wonderful island
Jhon Jaka,
Yes, Bali is one of our favorites! So much natural beauty in Bali.
Wow! The climbing of the volcano and watching the sun rise sounds amazing, in every sense of the world. Plus the idea of cooking eggs over volcanic steam is a story for life!
Great post, excellent read 😃 You’ve given us plenty of ideas for when we finally make it to Ball 👍
We’re excited for your trip to Bali! Another great hike to do on a neighboring island is Mt. Rinjani!
Thanks for the tips. I’m hoping to visit next year. I really want to visit the Rice paddies and didn’t know it was possible to cycle between them. White water rafting sounds awesome too.
Thank you for the tips! First time I knew that we can surf at Green Bowl. Have always went there to soak only, relax, and enjoy the privacy. Love the beach, so clear and not many people yet.
