We have some exciting news for all of you roamers out there. If you’ve been following along on our Instagram, you’ve seen that we just visited Thailand! In November 2016, we spoke with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and they told us all about a honeymoon campaign they were hosting and recommended we apply. We applied to the contest and we won a trip to Phuket, Thailand!
The Tourism Authority of Thailand flew us from Los Angeles, California to Phuket, Thailand to partake in an adventurous honeymoon on the Andaman Sea. While we had a lot of activities crammed into a few days, we made the most of our time in picturesque Thailand. The Tourism Authority of Thailand also surprised us by filming us the entire time we were there!
From zip-lining at The Flying Hanuman in the Phuket jungle to kayaking through the mangroves of Koh Yao Noi, our time in Thailand was filled with romantic adventure. As the adventure lovers that we are, our first full day was filled with watersports. While at the Village Coconut, we went banana boating (and fell off three times) and went sailing around the island.
One of our favorite parts of our adventurous time in Thailand was when we took a boat out to the island of Koh Yao Noi and found a remote area of the island with no inhabitants. It was a crystal clear, sunny day in beautiful Thailand and the rays of sunshine made the Andaman Sea’s emerald color appear even more vibrant than usual. We spent the day soaking in the rays and floating in the crystal clear ocean.
In the evenings, we were able to retreat to our honeymooner suite at the luxurious Sri Panwa. We’ve stayed at many nice hotels, but this private pool villa tops our list. It had floor to ceiling windows and doors with a wraparound infinity pool (yes, you read that right). We had an outdoor shower, Jacuzzi, lounge chairs, and lounge gazebo.
Our favorite part of our Sri Panwa villa was that the windows completely opened up so that we could dive right into the pool directly from our king sized bed. Imagine this – after a restful nights slumber, you and your honey awaken to the sun rising over the Andaman Sea. You wipe the sleep from your eyes and dive on into your infinity pool, washing off the slumber from the night before. Does it get any more romantic than that?
From playing with watersports on The Andaman Sea to flying high over the Thai jungle, our time in Thailand was filled with romance and adventure. It was the perfect second honeymoon for us.
