When I think of tranquility, I think of the Amandari. It is my refuge, my meditative state, and my sanctuary. My stay at the Amandari was nothing short of life changing and it started from the moment I walked onto the grounds. A cloche of calmness soothed my soul as I entered the property. Completely 5-star from end-to-end, the service at the Amandari is nothing short of decadent. True to its Aman Resorts roots, The Amandari sets the bar high. From the moment we arrived, the staff knew all of our names by memory. The key with the staff at the Amandari was that they anticipated our every want and need. From our food and beverage choices to activity arrangements, spa treatments and transportation, everyone at the Amandari effortlessly arranged our holiday to perfection. Special love to Dee for making our stay at the Amandari one for the history books of our hearts.

We had the pleasure of staying for an entire week at the Amandari at one of their jungle villas. The spacious villa was our own jungle love bungalow. Situation above the river valley, the villas have a view of the lush green jungle from the patio. The villas are arranged to maximize space, offering open floor plans for all guests.

We barely wanted to leave the Amandari for many reasons, but one main reason was the food. A gourmet chef meticulously prepares all of the food. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all epicurean delights. I loved the wide variety of healthy options from juices, giant salads, and Indonesian specialties. I also loved their assortment of Indonesian coffees – an absolute pleasure!

Healing – Many people visit Bali to find healing to their personal process. Thanks to “Eat, Pray, Love,” people from around the world travel to Ubud to seek clarity. We happened to find our own clarity right where we were staying. A visit to Vijaya, the spa director, is an absolute must during your stay at the Amandari.

The Pool – The Amandari’s heavenly pool is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of activities.

The Spa – The spa at the Amandari offers some of the best treatments in all of Bali. We had a special package that allowed for one activity a day and rest assured, you know I chose a massage almost every.single.day. These massages are otherworldly!

Yoga – The Amandari offers an enlightening and soothing morning practice set in the lush jungle grounds.

For the explorer at heart, The Amandari can arrange athletic and adventurous escapades around Ubud.

BIKING: I highly recommend the mountain bike through the rice fields of Bali. Worlds away from tourists, you’ll explore nearby villages and beautiful landscapes.

HIKING: The grounds surrounding the Amandari are absolutely incredible. Take a guided walk of the Ayung River valley and stop to see banyan trees and other jungle wonders. At the end, visit a nearby luwak coffee plantation where you can taste fresh local coffee and tea. Yum!

Overall, our stay at The Amandari was nothing short of magical. From the service to the food, the villas to the amenities, everything at the Amandari was 5-star luxury.
